SANTA CRUZ – Kent Bazemore, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, scored 26 points to lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to their second home game victory, beating Springfield Armor 113-101 on Thursday.
The Warriors are now 7-2. Five Warriors scored in double figures. Chris Johnson scored 24; Jeremy Tyler, also on assignment, posted the lone double-double of the night with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Stefhon Hannah scored 12 and Travis Leslie had 11 points.
Ramone Moore scored 19 points and grabbed 6 boards to lead Springfield, which, as a team, shot 55.6 percent from beyond the three-point line. But the Warriors owned the paint, scoring 60 of their 113 points inside. The team shot 53.1 percent from the field, while holding the Armor to just 43.2 percent shooting overall. The Warriors also out-rebounded their opponent 43-38.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will be back in action tonight, tipping-off against the Springfield Armor at 7 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
