SC Warriors extend win streak to four

SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz Warriors won their third home game 88-79 on Friday, sweeping the Springfield Armor and extending their win streak to four.

SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz Warriors won their third home game 88-79 on Friday, sweeping the Springfield Armor and extending their win streak to four.

The SC Warriors were led by Travis Leslie, who scored 17 points in 30 minutes. Taylor Griffin posted a double-double, with 12 points and 10 boards. Stefhon Hannah scored 13, and Cameron Jones and Chris Johnson each scored in double figures off the bench.

The Springfield Armor were led by Ben Uzoh, who scored 17 points, while Carleton Scott had a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds.

The game was close throughout, with 13 lead changes and nine ties. Both teams shooting below 40 percent from the field, but the Warriors again out-rebounded their opponent 64-46.

The Santa Cruz Warriors will be back in action on New Year’s Day, tipping-off against the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 2 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
