Fox News’ Ed Henry announced he was taking a leave of absence on Thursday amid sexual misconduct allegations.
“Over the past several days, Jousting with some personal issues. I need to take some time off,” Henry said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “Unfortunately, in this media environment, one must immediately deny or confirm. I will take some time off to fight against the unfair and accuracy attacks on me. I look forward to getting back soon.”
Henry has been with Fox News since 2011. He most recently served as the network’s chief White House correspondent.
The Washington Post first reported the accusations against Henry on Tuesday, detailing allegations from a former Las Vegas stripper who said she had an affair with the married newsman in 2006. The woman also accused Henry of calling her racial slurs and demanding that she perform sex acts on him.
Fox News said it was investigating the claims against Henry and had “no additional comments at this time.”
Early Life and Education
Ed Henry was born on July 20, 1971, in Queens, New York, the United States to American parents. His father was a Vietnam War veteran. He holds an American nationality and belongs to the white ethnicity.
Henry graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, New York in 1993 and later joined Washington reach Georgetown University Law Center and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2000.
Ed Henry currently serves as the chief national correspondent for Fox News Channel (FNC). He joined the network in 2011 as a senior White House correspondent.
In this role, he provides regular reports and live coverage of the Trump administration for various Fox News programs.
Henry has covered numerous major stories during his time at Fox News. These include the 2012 presidential election, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, and the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting.
Ed Henry is currently married to Shirley Henry. The couple have two children together. Henry has been outspoken about his Christian faith, and has even written a book about it. He is an active member of his church and often speaks at religious events.
